Very often when we make or order pizza, we have a few portions left over and we save it to eat the next day, but here comes the problem: how do we reheat it so that it is crispy and just right, without having to flip it on the oven ? We give you two tricks with which it’s perfect:
– In the microwave. Most often pizza is put in the microwave, but the result is not the best, because the dough tends to soften a lot and the ingredients on top dry out. To avoid this, you can put the pizza pieces on a plate, put it in the microwave, and put a cup or glass (of microwaveable material) with water, without filling it to the brim, to prevent water from splashing out. In this way, the humidity of the water prevents the filling from drying out. We can also additionally put absorbent kitchen paper on a plate and pizza slices on top so that the paper absorbs the moisture and the dough is not as soft, but use this trick with the paper only for a few seconds.
– In the pan. The result will be better if we heat the pizza in a pan: put the pan (without oil) on a low heat and, when it starts to heat up, lay out the pizza slices. We can cover the pan with a lid to make it faster. This way, it will be crispy and perfect for drinking.
One more thing: if you have a resistance toaster, you can put baking paper on it and pizza slices on top of the paper. That way, you’ll restore the crispness of the dough without over-drying the ingredients.
And with these simple techniques, you can enjoy your pizza as if it had just been cooked.
